BLSEM wins 'Best Market Neutral Fund'

Bennelong Long Short Equity Management (BLSEM) has won ‘Best Market Neutral Fund’ at the Hedge Fund Rocks and Australian Hedge Fund Awards, announced at an award ceremony on 15 September.

The awards were established in 2005 to recognise and honour the industry’s top performers. Finalists are decided based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative factors agreed by a panel of judges in ten categories.

Richard Fish, Director at BLSEM, said “It’s an honour to receive an industry award that recognises the strong and consistent performance of our Fund. It’s also a testament to the hard work of the team.”

BLSEM is a boutique, market neutral asset manager, managing investments on behalf of both fund-of-funds and private investors. The team was founded as a joint initiative between Bennelong Funds Management (Bennelong) and BLSEM principal, Richard Fish, in 2002.

The team, which has a highly successful track record with in excess of 12 years of strong performance history, invests in long and short large capitalisation Australian shares (primarily S&P/ASX 100).

BLSEM also made the shortlist at the Professional Planner | Zenith Awards in the ‘Alternative Strategies’ category.
